Almost all counties and states have a Germantown. This one in Columbia County manages to be the epitome of contemporary chic, while still feeling like a rural escape.
Going down Route 9 from Hudson or crossing County Road 8, it’s often just you and the trees. But that’s why stumbling across Germantown feels like you’re in an oasis. Although it borders the Hudson River and is only 15 minutes from bustling downtown Hudson, it feels like another world. Perhaps this is what has attracted so many artists and designers to live and work in the region.
