What makes your business the best in Racine County?
New works of art are to be discovered during each visit to the Racine Art Museum (RAM) in downtown Racine. Home to America’s largest collection of contemporary crafts, RAM holds 15-20 fascinating exhibitions each year featuring its collections of more than 10,000 pieces. More than half represent fine art jewelry, ceramics, fibers, glass, metals, polymers and wood. The current exhibition, Focus Collection: Mara Superior, on display until January 15, 2022, offers the beginning of an archive of the work of this respected American ceramic artist. Produced between 1982 and 2018, these recently acquired pieces are exhibited along with three others from Superior already present in the RAM collection. Until January 22, 2022, Alien Invasion: (Un) Familiar Forms in Contemporary Art features works by contemporary artists who don’t shy away from the oversized, dramatic, or intriguing. Often inspired by the natural world, most of these artists depict friction and tension through organic forms. Component Parts: Artworks Made of Multiple Elements, on view until February 12, 2022, includes works from RAM’s permanent collection that consist of multiple parts. Whether it is a single complex object or a series of several pieces united in a single work, the sum of these parts is more expressive than the whole.
