Art Explora and Cité internationale des arts residency program
Art Explora is pleased to announce that the call for applications for the 2022 residency is now open.
To support international artists, Art Explora created in 2021 a new biennial residency program in collaboration with the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. The first residency session began in March 2021 and welcomed for its first edition 20 residents of all ages and nationalities, in the Cité des arts in Montmartre, a stone’s throw from the Sacré-Coeur, in the heart of Paris.
Until November 15, 2021, artists and researchers from all over the world and without age limit, can apply for this unique residency program, with a project that questions the relationships between art and science, technology, contemporary social and ecological issues.
The second edition will be divided into two six-month sessions, starting in March 2022 and September 2022 respectively. The residencies will be of two types: one SOLO program for artists only and one DUO program for collaborations between artists and researchers. All residents will receive a subsidy for living and production costs.
The selection committee is made up of personalities from the world of art and academic research:
–Diana Campbell Bétancourt: Artistic director of the Samdani Art Foundation and curator of the Dhaka Art Summit (USA & Bangladesh)
–Vinciane Despret: Philosopher of science, Professor at the University of Liège and at the Free University of Brussels (Belgium)
–Christine Macel: Chief curator at the Center Pompidou (France)
–Simon Njami: Curator, artistic director of the 12th and 13th editions of Dak’art (Cameroon & Switzerland)

Applications are open until November 15, 2021 (11:59 p.m. CST).
