Camp + King announced that they have promoted Katie Burleson to Senior Art Director and Justin Marimon to Senior 3D Artist in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the team.
Katie Burleson is promoted to Senior Art Director from Art Director. For the past four years, Katie has used visual storytelling to reach the hearts of strangers, whether in international galleries or for brands like Cesar Dog Food, Wells Fargo, Papa Johns and RE/MAX. When she’s not exercising her creative prowess at work, she’s currently working on ways to merge a new hobby of surfing with her artistry in the studio.
Founder and CCO Roger Camp says, “Katie is a powerful art director who exercises her design acumen and aesthetic prowess the way a fighter uses a stiff left jab. Whether it’s choosing fonts, kerning, or photographic and editorial mastery… what she’s really doing is evaluating her assignments and methodically narrowing them down, until she sees the opportunity. to decimate them with a furious punch of conceptual creativity. I no longer imagine worthy of being promoted to senior art director. In fact, I pity the fool who dares to mess with this creative superstar.
Commenting on her promotion, Katie says, “Since my first day at Camp + King, I’ve felt lucky to be at an agency that values heart, creativity and good humor! Even better, I was surrounded by great people who helped me grow so much.
Justin Marimon is promoted to Senior 3D Artist from Motion Graphics Artist. Justin prides himself on being a multidisciplinary designer, animator and lifelong student of his craft. He started his career as a graphic designer with a passion for commercial photography and has since expanded his skills to include CGI motion graphics as well as visual effects and compositing. When art directors present groundbreaking concepts, Justin aims to be the artist who can make it happen, no matter what toolset is required.
On promoting Justin, production manager Garrett DeLorm shares, “If you can dream it up, Justin will find a way to bring it to life and make it even more remarkable than you ever anticipated. He’s a multidisciplinary tour de force – a hybrid motion graphic/3D artist, a creative technologist and a human dynamo – and an integral part of our Content Labs creative studio. As we progress through different avenues of storytelling and the role of tech-driven creativity evolves, the importance of its skills for the future will only grow.
“I started at Camp + King as a 2D visual designer with aspirations of learning animation.” Justin said. “At every turn, they have supported my learning, growth, and constant exploration of new mediums. I am excited about the work we are able to produce for our clients and deeply appreciate this promotion.”
