Fort Worth’s dazzling Christmas lights will come on hours after Halloween

The Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art is fully dressed and ready for the start of the holiday season. They will light their dazzling Modern lights when the sun sets on Monday, November 1, marking the earliest start of their popular holiday exhibit yet.

“Modern trees are illuminated by an array of festive lights to celebrate the holiday season,” an Oct. 27 statement read. “Passers-by experience a breathtaking spectacle and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the evening viewing opportunities.”

The lights will stay on until February 6. (Come on now, why not make them sparkle until Valentine’s Day?)

In addition to driving or walking around campus to see the lights, guests during Modern Lights can also tour the museum’s galleries for free until 8 p.m. on Fridays.

Dinner at Cafe Modern will be served on Friday, with seating from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (reservations here). “Executive Chef Jett Mora welcomes you with warm hospitality, creative cuisine and a seasonal menu rooted in ingredients from Texas,” the statement said.

Special First Friday at the Modern events will take place on November 5, December 3, and January 7. They will include free 20-minute guided tours, a cash bar and a light menu in the lobby.

“On the first Friday of each month, Modern and Café Modern team up to bring you live music from the First Friday House Band, drink specials and delicious light snacks in the museum’s Great Lobby from 5 to 8 p.m. h “, they say. “Invite your friends to take advantage of a unique opportunity to experience Modern in the evening.”

And as a reminder, here’s what happens in the galleries during the holidays:

  • “Teresa Hubbard / Alexander Birchler: Flora” until January 16
  • “Milton Avery,” November 7 to January 30
  • “FOCUS: Frances Stark”, from November 14 to January 16
  • “FOCUS: Jill Magid”, from January 21 to March 20

Face coverings are mandatory for entry to the museum for visitors over 2 years old. This includes in the auditorium and in the Café Modern when they are not at the table or when they are not eating or drinking.
