Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz is full of art galleries, trendy cafes and cool dining concepts, an independent cinema, a theater showcasing local talent and much more. The new show season starts on Wednesday September 22 with Alserkal Lates.
There will be plenty to see and do during the day from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for art lovers, creatives and foodies.
Here’s what you can expect at Alserkal Lates this year
For art lovers
A number of galleries and non-profit spaces on Alserkal Avenue will open the season with new exhibitions on September 22.
See a colorful series of abstract paintings called Enchanted garden at the Leila Heller Gallery (above), abstract and semi-abstract works of art and sculptures at the Mestaria Gallery, a group exhibition titled Praxis of change at Firetti Contemporary and more.
A new art gallery will also open under the name of Volte Art Projects. The exhibition kicks off with artists from Europe, South Africa, India and the United States presenting installations linked by art, technology and nature.

For creative designers
Want to get creative? During Alserkal Lates, meet at Soul Artistic Studio for the Ikebana workshop. You will learn the traditional and ancient Japanese art of flower arranging. The course takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For food lovers, there will be food trucks located in the alley where they can refuel before heading off to visit another art gallery.
Sweets lovers, hunt down Swirl by Two where you can enjoy an Insgrammable dessert and specialty coffee.
There is another cafe that opened at the arts and culture center called Le Guepard. The space even has a private dining room with a chandelier.
