Islip Central School District: Alfano School Community Observes Hispanic Heritage Culture

The Alfano Elementary School community comes together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. By engaging in educational activities, students learn about the rich history of this culture. In her daily morning announcements, Alfano Elementary Headmistress Carmen Vazquez delivers quotes from famous models of Hispanic descent whose professions include a Supreme Court judge, an astronaut, artists, artists. , writers and people from other notable professions. A series of notice boards in the halls of Alfano are adorned with artistic creations designed by students, under the direction of art teacher, Ms. Victoria Ingram. In this slideshow, students from Ms. Jilian Siracusa’s 4th grade class proudly present their research projects, along with Ms. Vazquez, Ms. Ingram and Ms. Siracusa.
