Compound, a nonprofit focused on art and holistic health, officially opened to the public today after pushing back its official opening date not once, but twice due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
The 15,000 square foot space in the Zaferia District, which is a hybrid art gallery, holistic healing center, retail space, and future restaurant, can finally welcome people through its doors. Needless to say, the organizers are very enthusiastic.
“From the start, we dreamed of creating an affirming, inclusive and open place. We are thrilled to finally open our doors and welcome into our community to save space, heal, grow and feel a sense of belonging, ”Compound Founder Megan Tagliaferri said in a statement.
While admission and programming is free, Compound limits capacity and requires registration to enter which you can complete online, here.
Classes you can sign up for include various yoga and meditation classes, gardening and art workshops, and even a photojournalism workshop in late July.
For those who wish to explore the space, which offers two simultaneous art exhibitions and a sculpture garden, you can register for the “General Admission” slots online.
The resort is located at 1395 Coronado Ave., Long Beach.
