The Guild’s 8th Annual Art Walk begins August 27 through the streets of downtown Ridgefield

It’s that time of year again! Ridgefield Guild of Artists presents its eighth edition Artistic walk, when downtown Ridgefield comes alive with traveling art galleries. Artistic walk 2021 will start on Friday August 27th and run until Sunday September 12th. This year’s event continues to change due to the realities of life during COVID, applying local, state, and CDC protocols. Artists from Ridgefield and the surrounding towns and counties of Connecticut and New York take part, showcasing paintings, photographs, sculptures and more on the streets and in store windows.

Thirty-two merchants along Main Street and Bailey Avenue “welcome” forty-two individual artists for Artistic walk 2021. Opening night is August 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with artists outside their stores for meetups and greetings. Saturday August 28 is Artists Day, with many participating artists on the sidewalks showing off their wares and demonstrating their craft.

Art Walk 2021 brings art, music and a party atmosphere to downtown Ridgefield. Pam Stoddart, Executive Director of Ridgefield Guild of Artists and Event Chair, invites everyone to join our artists: “It’s our end of summer party! We look forward to welcoming our local artists and “strollers” to Art Walk this year. »All works are for sale. Profits are shared between the artists and RGOA, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Guild’s share helps with general expenses and future programming.

“As we all know, the pandemic has forced local (and large-scale) arts organizations to get creative moving forward. and survive, ”said Mary Pat Devine, President of the Guild. “Working on our late summer tradition gives us a lot of hope. We love our Ridgefield community and thank everyone for your support of the arts.

The Guild thanks the Art Walk sponsors and contributors who helped make this event possible: Ridgefield County Bank, Sturges Bothers, Ridgefield Apartments and graphic designers Kristin Healy and Mara Freeman.
