The New Bedford Art Museum hosts annual members’ exhibit

NEW BEDFORD – New Bedford Art Museum / Works of Art! presents the annual members’ exhibition until May 8. The 2021 exhibition jury, Stephanie Haboush Plunkett, selected works of art for money and other prizes.

Nancy Whitcomb’s Dog Eat Dog World received the Best in Show award. Susan Gilmore’s Blustery was the first finalist, and Dora Atwater Millikin’s Nantucket Light Ship was the second finalist. The staff choice was Waiting On Citrus To Ripen by Elizabeth Stanton.

Each year the New Bedford Art Museum calls on members to submit their works of art to be considered for the exhibition, and each year the museum is delighted to see what its community has do.

This year’s members who were selected by the juries include Adrian Tio, Allen Constant, Barbara McDowell, Bill Popik, Brittany Grimes, Carol Scavotto, Carole Constant, Chip Davenport, Corinna Raznikov, Danya Bichsel, Deb Smook, Denn Santoro, Dora , Atwater Millikin, Elizabeth Stanton, Emmett Barnacle, Eric Lintala, Helen Bryant, Iwona Lapczyk, JP Powel, Jane Bregoli, Jane O’Hara, Jill Law, Jim Sears, Judith Klein, Keith M. Francis, Kendra J. Conn, Kim Barry, Kristina N Occhino, Lelia Stokes, Weinstein, Lynne Byers, Marty Keating, Mary N. Hurwitz, Mia Pelletier, Milton H. Brightman, Morgan Spaulding, Nancy Whitcomb, Ray Genereux, Robert Dunn, Ron Fortier, Roy Rossow, Skip Treglia , Susan Costa, and Susan Gilmore.

About the juror

Stephanie Haboush Plunkett is Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Norman Rockwell Museum. Plunkett began his professional career in museum education and previously held positions at the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, New York. Lately, she has organized numerous exhibitions exploring the art of Norman Rockwell and the field of illustration.
